OVERVIEW

Rathdowney plans to advance toward the feasibility level in a phased approach as recommended in the Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), using the PEA as a basis for the refining and optimizing the project. In parallel, the company plans to move the project forward through the Polish permitting and development process.

 With the Company driving towards operation, we have engaged a multi-functional external technical team to work with Project Olza staff. This technical team includes:

  • SRK Consulting
    An independent, international consulting practice that provides advice and solutions to mining clients. SRK offers services through feasibility, mine planning, and production to mine closure.

  • CEC Government Relations
    Lead consultant for government relations (national).

  • AECOM Polska Sp. Z o.o.
    Lead consultant for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

  • AGH University of Science & Technology
    Lead consultant for hydrogeology and engineering (PZZ).

  • Human & Nature Foundation
    Lead consultant for environmental data collection (flora and fauna).

  • Institute of Environmental Engineering Polish Academy of Sciences
    Lead consultant for air quality monitoring.

  • PectorEco
    Lead consultant for hydrology.

Environment and Permitting

The objective of the Rathdowney's environmental program is to provide the data necessary for an Environmental Impact Assessment through studies of studies of flora and fauna, surface and ground water quality and quantity, hydrology, climate, air quality and soil conditions in the project-area. 


Rathdowney’s objective is to obtain a Mining License for the Project. To reach that milestone, its work plan is directed toward:

  • Completion of an Environmental Impact Assessment (“EIA”);

  • Submission and approval of a Land Re-Zoning Application; and

  • Completion of a Project Development Report (“PZZ”).

 

Since completion of the PEA, Rathdowney has completed additional core drilling for geotechnical and resource information; extensive geological interpretation and project design engineering; multi-year hydrology studies; plant evaluations; infrastructure assessment (power, roads, etc.); studies of the existing community setting and local socioeconomic fabric; and extensive multi-year environmental and land use planning and zoning assessments. 

 

As a result, environmental documentation for the EIA is well advanced. Work toward a PZZ is underway.

Engineering

Additional technical work planned includes continued site based investigations and engineering studies to support project evaluation and development.

Community Engagement

Rathdowney established a local team and began community engagement activities in 2010. Consultation activities with the broader public have expanded as the project advanced. In all, over 2,000 meetings have been held with stakeholders since 2010.

Rathdowney is also committed to bringing benefits to the communities where it works and contributes to partnership programs in the areas of health, well-being, education, sport and youth.
